NIGHTWISH: LA HISTORIA DE LA PORTADA DE "ONCE"

Llamado el "Angel of Grief" (Angel del sufrimiento) , la estatua fue realizada por el escultor William Wetmore en la Historia Americana en 1894, sirve como una tumba de piedra para su esposa Emelyn Story, en el cementerio protestante de Roma.

La banda Nightwish colocó esta estatua como ilustración de portada para el álbum "Once" , lanzado en 2004 , y de acuerdo con la ex-vocalista Tarja Turunen , en una entrevista con la revista Templo Metal, dijo que Tuomas Holopainen eligió esta imagen para honrar a Marc Brueland, un fan americano, que se había convertido en un amigo, pero el paciente murió durante una cirugía para extirpar un tumor. La última canción del álbum, "Higher Than Hope", escrito por Tuomas y Marco Hietala, es también un homenaje a un fan americano.
Un dato curioso es que las tres bandas ya habían lanzado álbumes con el mismo Ángel: The Tea Party en el álbum "The Edges of Twilight", en 1995 Evanescence con su EP homónimo.
