RETROSPECTIVA NIGHTWISH - TARJA TURUNEN

SpazioRock

ENGLISH TRASLATE:
NIGHTWISH is about to unleash an interesting phenomenon of new media about his theatrical bombast and symphonic metal, after the publication of high-level albums such as "Century Child", is a clear fact, almost predictable. So obvious that the biggest metal label albums worldwide, the German Nuclear Blast, the band decided to look TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN and writing an impressive follow-up to become a bestseller among the largest in the history of the genre. For obvious reasons, the results change the label of an immediate and drastic change of perspective: the new deal allows to take advantage of NIGHTWISH a budget worthy of the big names, registering for the first time in his career with the support of an entire disk choir and orchestra (the London session Orchestra directed by Pip Williams) as well as flawless production and a massive promotion in all over the world, including Italy. We are in 2004 and the time of power metal opera full of such voices, bombastic keyboards and synthesizers seem further away. In recent years, NIGHTWISH have figured out how to integrate new sounds and new influences in his style and "Once" is a decisive step forward, working on the most epic and cinematic component and emphasizing the service through a handful of songs unpredictable and captivating. The eleven chapters of the hard outline a variety of scenarios so far unknown to the Finnish quintet: from the Middle East to North America, to his native Scandinavia, the band dove imagery makes a long journey in search new ideas and new vibrations. This strong spirit of innovation creates a rockier sound, articulate and open to contamination. The ultra-low button and movements electronic shady "Wish I Had An Angel" is just one of many innovations in the effort of the fifth of the quintet: the song describes a detachment rather than sharp metal compared with the attitude of a time and space while intermediate grades, asks fans to be divided between supporters and opponents of this new course. Even more surprising, perhaps, is the only release of "Nemo", which opens in a memorable tour and orecchiabilissimo plan becomes a dreamy mid-tempo driven by an elegant vocal line and (why not?) Radio and disposition reminds one of the great fantasy symphonic soundtracks. This last element is developed to track correctly as "The Siren", a song where the pace seductive arabesque guitars and strings together in a whirlwind of supernatural sounds, from the "Creek Mary's Blood", a long funeral march term based on the slaughter of American Indians by the white man where we can hear the sweet sound of the Indian flute and a poem recited by the artist John Two Hawks Lakota, and the melancholy "Kuolema Teeke Taiteilijan" (literally, "creates the Death of an artist "), an intimate reflection on the importance of pain in the mother tongue in the lives of those who create art through the visions of his inner world, accompanied by the orchestra and the voice of TARJA TURUNEN in total solitudeNIGHTWISH, however, betray more metal, and its nature, against dall'appeal episodes of predominantly commercial or a symphony, strengthen their guitars and unleash your greatness inspired by the opera "Dark Chest Of Wonders", the anger and the epic "Planet Hell" (a battle in which the voice of bassist MARCO HIETALA is the victory) and the excessive and hallucinatory epic "Romanticide." The masterpiece of "Once" is the long-term set of "Ghost Love Score": ten minutes TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN pure ecstasy that opens the doors to the building of a monument in honor lyrical sounds and images of impossible loveChanges massive choirs and orchestra accompanying the persuasive voice of TARJA TURUNEN and the incursions of the guitar in the song, a symbol of the entire Scandinavian symphonic power. The imposition of a chorus that accompanies the song to a dramatic end to one of the verses s'incastona movement ever made by the artist: "My fall will be for you / my love is in you / If I be cut / Be I will bleed forever. " With "Once" NIGHTWISH have succeeded where many others do not palatable to the general public rather than a niche as the symphonic metal genre, but without changing its identity. In it, the fans are, in fact, all the issues dear to them, plus a good dose of news, as always, make a new trend within the scene, soon to be inhabited by a large amount of training women's voice without art or part. Today, the album has sold over a million copies worldwide and helped to clarify definitively the name of NIGHTWISH, not only among fans of the sounds of metal, but also among those that feed only on rock means commonly."Once", however, be remembered as one of the biggest blockbusters in the history of metal, but also as the last painful experience of collaboration with singer TARJA TURUNEN, who at the end of a long tour will be dismissed from the band through an open letter, and only after two years will be replaced by ANETTE OLZON of Sweden, first appeared in the controversial "Dark Passion Play". But that is another story. Now we're still here, while "Once" is closed in the last verses sad "Higher Than Hope" with the sound of a snow storm that moves slowly and takes with him a trail of family memories and emotions. ..
