«¡Es un placer para mí también! ¿Me oís con claridad? En este momento estoy en mi coche y me dirijo a mi próximo concierto, pero puedo oír perfectamente.»

«¡Gracias, es un placer!»
Actualmente estás de gira en tu país de origen para promover HARUS, tu nuevo proyecto: ¿Quieres decirnos algo? ¿Este es un proyecto paralelo o es un viejo sueño?
«Ya sabes, en realidad llevamos con HARUS desde 2006, pero tocamos un año en Finlandia hasta el momento. Todo comenzó con un festival de órgano en el año 2006, entonces es como... tomando una chispa! Se creó una magia muy fuerte que nos llevó a continuar. Así que hemos llevado a cabo a HARUS en iglesias y auditorios aquí en Finlandia y fue genial! Tuvimos la oportunidad de grabar un concierto de navidad en 2009, que finalmente fue publicado este año. Esto nos permitió -además- viajar a otros estados. Nuestro sueño es sólo eso. Obviamente, todavía hay una gran cantidad de obstáculos en mi vida, estoy preparando mi nuevo álbum, aunque la música clásica es una parte muy importante en mi vida.»
¿Cómo eligieron las canciones para el proyecto y cómo se han organizado en HARUS?
«Bueno, este disco en directo es la grabación de un concierto que se celebró en Finlandia, o más bien parte de esa gira, en la que hemos tocado canciones favoritas de navidad y algunas conocidas de todo el mundo, así como una selección de piezas clásicas famosas y piezas un poco menos conocidas. Esta selección hemos trabajado durante años y todavía ofrecen algunas de estas canciones de la gira hoy.»
También ha escrito una mirada clásica del álbum: ¿Qué puedes decirnos sobre esa experiencia?
«Sí, 'Ave María'. Bueno, sentí una fuerte necesidad de tener, como si ya era hora de hacer las cosas bien. En 2009 estaba sentada en el piano y dije: 'No puedo esperar a llegar el próximo concierto de HARUS al final del año, quiero escribir un Ave María.' De hecho, me llevó tres minutos en un segundo para escribir, corrientes de pensamientos. Yo soy una gran fan del Ave María. La primera fue que yo cantaba Schubert, uno de los más conocidos en todo el mundo, pero hay cientos, y éstos siguen siendo desconocidos para la mayoría de la gente. Ellos son mi pasión, tanto es así que en un par de semanas grabé un álbum completo de Ave María con el organista Kalevi Kiviniemi, aquí en Finlandia. Aún no lo sé, cuando salga a la luz, pero sin duda en el futuro saldrá seguramente.»
¿Continuar con el estudio? Seguramente es difícil encontrar tiempo para entrenar tu voz en medio de todas estas giras...
«¡Oh, yo me ejercito siempre, creéme!. Es algo que siento particularmente hoy en día. Mi profesora de canto y coach personal practicamos en Buenos Aires. Practico mucho con ella. Es vital para mí, para mi progreso y crecimiento como cantante clásica, porque me ayuda a cantar diferentes estilos. Tengo muchas ganas de mejorar esta área porque estudiar me da una voz más sana, más fuerte y me da confianza en todo lo que hago.»
Usted vino de NIGHTWISH en el medio de sus estudios operísticos... Luego te han empujado a un género diferente y un estilo vocal diferente, sobre todo en "Century Child" y "Once". ¿Cómo te la has arreglado para crecer y adaptarte a tu voz en estas dos dimensiones?
«Pues bien, todo era el resultado de mi trabajo. Siempre he trabajado sólo en mis líneas vocales, hubo maestros que me han dicho a cantar en los discos, o con la banda. Era un trabajo muy difícil y largo, me tomó varios años sentirme cómoda con mi voz. El estudio fue muy duro, y también el espectáculo. Yo todavía estaba en el principio de mis estudios de ópera y no quería abandonarlos, ya que mi técnica vocal se basa en ellos. Era un tormento, pero alrededor de 2003 y 2004, me parece a mí, me comencé a sentir más segura y cómoda. Tuve suerte de no haber arruinado mi voz! Me concentro mucho en cada respiración que tomo y en todo lo que hago. Soy muy cuidadosa y profesional a la hora de cantar. La voz es un instrumento muy delicado y bajo la influencia de la nada.»
Después de haber sido la vocalista de una banda, durante mucho tiempo iniciaste un nuevo capítulo, trabajando con diferentes músicos y escribiendo diferentes canciones y mostrando a todos la identidad fuera de NIGHTWISH. ¿Cómo lo describirías en lo musical y en lo personal?
«Wow... es como un hermoso sueño hecho realidad para mí, de verdad!. Todo el mundo de la música me ha abierto las puertas. Tenía que encontrarme a mí misma, mi identidad a través de la música, y empecé a escribir por mi cuenta. ¡Todo ha cambiado!. Finalmente conocí a gente dispuesta a ayudarme y apoyarme... Nunca he tenido este tipo de apoyo en el pasado. ¡Fue algo increíble!. Tuve que tomar coraje y el comienzo no fue fácil, pero después de haber dado los primeros pasos comencé a entender que hay todo un mundo antes y es lo mejor que puedo hacer.»
Por lo que fue gratificante...
«¡Muy, pero muy gratificante! ¿Que haría yo sin mis maravillosos fans? (risas). Vienen de todas partes del mundo y son realmente hermosos, son una bendición.»
Parece que el invierno es un gran recurso para usted y creo que el álbum es el tipo de CD que le gustaría escuchar a la navidad...
«Bueno, eché un vistazo a la escena del coche que veo aquí en Finlandia, y yo diría que la nieve no está allí simplemente y no parece estar en un "país de las maravillas d invierno". En cuanto a mi inspiración, a menudo de viaje, tengo la oportunidad de conocer a gente y ver cómo viven en sus países. Otras culturas me han inspirado, así como ver cómo resolver sus propios problemas, en el otro lado del planeta, las personas deben enfrentar los mismos problemas de los que viven aquí en el norte. Este tipo de cosas es una gran fuente de inspiración. Para mí, cuando algo me pone triste o feliz surge la necesidad de escribir. También hay otras cosas, pero estas son mis principales fuentes de inspiración: la gente, sus historias y sus experiencias.»
Sé que eres una gran fan de Paulo Coelho y "Outlanders" es el nombre de la canción que escribiste para el "Día de Paulo Coelho": ¿Qué es lo que más le gusta, su filosofía, su manera de escribir, sus personajes, sus historias...
«Me gusta su estilo, su manera de contar los sueños en general, su mensaje es sólo para seguir luchando por los sueños... Era vital para mí entender que lo que estoy viviendo es mi sueño y quiero luchar por ello. No te lo puede arrebatar nadie del corazón, nadie puede hacerlo. Paulo Coelho dice exactamente esto, y nos invita a tomar riesgos, porque de lo contrario nunca se sabrían como serían las cosas en nuestras vidas y así encontrar la felicidad.»
Sé que esta no es el tipo de pregunta que te gustaría oír, y no quiero parecer demasiado rudo o invasivo, pero yo quería saber si por casualidad escuchaste el nuevo disco de NIGHTWISH (IMAGINAREUM) y si te sigue gustando su nueva música...
«No, no lo he hecho.»
Durante el show ofrecés muchas canciones de NIGHTWISH. Estoy seguro de que todavía aman estas canciones...
«Si, por supuesto.»
... también hay una implicación emocional negativa en todo esto? ¿Es doloroso recordar el pasado mientras estás en el escenario?
«Creo que he traído estas canciones a otra escala que es mi escala personal. Con mi banda, con mis músicos, tocamos de una manera muy diferente, ya sabes. Hay una nueva energía dentro de mi banda y esto me ayuda a enfocarme de manera diferentes frente a las canciones. Así que estoy feliz de tocar, incluso para ver las reacciones de mis fans, algunos de ellos me siguen desde el principio con NIGHTWISH. ¡Es curioso en un sentido!. Hay algunas canciones que voy a seguir... creo que para el resto de mi vida. Se trata de una parte de mí, en cierto sentido.»
En Marzo retornarás a Italia y será un show especial, ya que actuará en un teatro. ¿Qué tipo de espectáculo se puede esperar esta vez?
«Siempre he soñado con hacer gira teatral. Me encanta el teatro, su contexto y su ambiente diferente, y me encanta actuar en el teatro. El show de Milán será parte de una gira muy importante, llamada "tour final" en las que tocaré canciones de mis dos discos (My Winter Storm / What Lies Beneath) y un par de canciones nuevas. Será una ocasión especial ya que grabaremos un DVD, y mis fans serán parte de él de una u otra manera. Es importante para mí, es el primer DVD de mi carrera. Será un concierto lleno de emociones y estoy felíz de llevarlo a cabo en ese teatro maravilloso.»
Usted ha dicho que está trabajando en su nuevo proyecto solitario: ¿Debemos esperar un nuevo disco de TARJA para el próximo año?
«Este 'tour final' concluirá a mediados de abril y finales de mayo para comenzar a grabar el nuevo álbum. Por lo tanto, si todo va según lo previsto, escribiendo canciones durante este período. En realidad empecé a escribir en junio pasado. Ya tenemos un montón de canciones en la preparación y estoy muy contenta de cómo han ido las cosas hasta ahora, hay algunas piezas increíbles! Espero completar las grabaciones para el final del verano, así como la producción y todo lo demás, pero no sé cuando el álbum se dará a conocer. No creo que saldrá el año que viene, probablemente tendremos que esperar para el inicio de 2013, mientras que el DVD será lanzado definitivamente el próximo año.»

You are currently on tour in your country of origin to promote HARUS, your new project: Want to tell us something? Is this a side project or is an old dream?

He has also written a classic look of the album: What can you tell us about that experience?
'Yes,' Ave Maria '. Well, I felt a strong need, as if it was time to do things right. In 2009 I was sitting at the piano and said, 'I can not wait to get HARUS next concert at the end of year, I want to write a Hail Mary.' NIGHTWISH You came in the middle of studying opera ... Then you have pushed a different genre and a different vocal style, especially in "Century Child" and "Once". How do you you've managed to grow and adapt to your voice on these two dimensions?
"Well, it was the result of my work. I have always worked on my vocal lines only, there were teachers who have told me to sing on the records, or with the band. It was a very difficult and long, it took me several years to feel comfortable with my voice. The study was very hard, and the show. I was still in the beginning of my studies in opera and would not leave, because my vocal technique is based on them. It was a torment, but around 2003 and 2004, it seems to me, I started to feel more comfortable and safer. I was lucky not to have ruined my voice! I focus a lot in every breath I take and in everything I do. I'm very careful and professional when it comes to singing. The voice is a very delicate instrument and under the influence of nothing. "
After being the lead singer of a band for a long time to start a new chapter, working with different musicians and different writing songs and showing off all NIGHTWISH identity. How would you describe it in musical and personally?
"Wow ... is like a dream come true for me, really!. The whole world of music has opened the doors. I had to find myself, my identity through music, and started writing on my own. Everything has changed!. I finally met people willing to help and support ... I've never had this kind of support in the past. It was incredible. I had to take courage and the beginning was not easy, but having taken the first steps began to understand that there is a world before and it's the best I can do. "

" As for my inspiration, travel often, I have the opportunity to meet people and see how they live in their countries. Other cultures have inspired me and see how to solve their own problems, on the other side of the planet, people should face the same problems of those living here in the north. I know you're a big fan of Paulo Coelho and "Outlanders" is the name of the song you wrote for the "Day of Paulo Coelho" What do you like most about his philosophy, his writing, his characters, their stories ...
"I like his style, his way of telling dreams in general, his message is just to continue fighting for the dreams ... It was vital for me to understand what I'm experiencing is my dream and I want to fight for it. Do not nobody can take it away from the heart, no one can. Paulo Coelho says exactly this, and invites us to take risks, because otherwise it would never would know how things in our lives and find happiness. "

"I think I brought these songs to another level which is my personal scale. With my band, my musicians, played in a very different, you know. So I'm happy to play, even to see the reactions of my fans, some of them follow me from the beginning with NIGHTWISH. It's funny in a sense!. There are some songs that I will continue ... Return to Italy in March and will be a special show, and acting in a theater. What kind of show can expect this time?
"I've always dreamed of making theater tour. I love the theater, its context and different environment, and I love performing on stage. Milan's show will be part of a major tour, called "final tour" in which I will play songs from my two albums (My Winter Storm / What Lies Beneath) and a couple of new songs. It will be a special occasion to record a DVD, and my fans will be part of it in one way or another. It is important to me, is the first DVD of my career. It will be a concert full of emotions and I'm happy to do it in this wonderful theater. "
You said it is working on his new solo project: Should we expect a new album next year TARJA?
