La estrella del canto finlandés, TARJA TURUNEN: "Un montón de fans de Lituania me han enviado mensajes por correo electrónico."
El sonido del metal sólido y una imponente voz de ópera. Combinación, que no deja indiferente a nadie. Uno de los más populares es la famosa cantante finlandesa y ex vocalista de la banda NIGHTWISH. TARJA TURUNEN visitó el martes, Vilna. Antes de su viaje, la cantante concedió una entrevista al diario "Lituania Rytas".
Por primera vez visita a Lituania, ¿Cuáles son sus expectativas?
«Estoy muy emocionada. Mis amigos han elogiado mucho Vilna y la ciudad, dijeron que tenía que encontrar tiempo para pasear por el casco antiguo, los turistas se sienten. Además, muchos fans de Lituania me envían cartas agradables por Internet. Es bueno conocerlo finalmente.»
Esta es la primera vez en Lituania: ¿se reflejará en el programa del concierto?
«Se escucharán canciones de todos mis álbumes en solitario. Este tour ha estado ocurriendo durante tres años, pero esta parte es exclusiva, ya que en Argentina es el final de la filmación de un DVD del concierto.»
¿Qué fue de los conciertos memorables para usted?
«Ellos, mucho. El último par de años ha aportado innovación. Ahora estoy escribiendo canciones como artista y me siento completamente libre. Da mucha energía.»
Por ejemplo, acabas de presentar mi carrera en solitario por primera vez en Bulgaria. ¡Hubo tantos espectadores!
«Hubo lágrimas de alegría. En la actualidad, Bulgaria es uno de mis países favoritos.»
A veces, has realizado conciertos a dúo con artistas locales. ¿Esto va a suceder en Vilna?
«Puede ocurrir. Ve al concierto y lo verás. (risas)»
Es verdad que no podrías cantar opera porque de lo contrario te acostumbrarías a cantar, y necesitarías clases de canto nuevamente.
¿Vas a hacerlo alguna vez?
«Desde hace varios años trato de encontrar el tiempo para la música clásica. En noviembre pasado, grabé mi primer álbum, dónde canté música clásica. Se titula "Ave María". Lo grabé en una iglesia en Finlandia. Me preguntaba si lo haríamos.
Tuve una gran cantidad de ensayos con el profesor vocal en Buenos Aires. Si la suerte es buena. No sé cuando saldrá el disco.
Me gusta la música clásica, que ayuda a mantenerme en buena forma. Incluso con giras de rock, hago ejercicios vocales cada día. Pongo gran interés en el cuidado de la voz, la técnica y la salud.»
¿Qué grupos de metal te gustaban cuando eras una adolescente?
«Más bien de rock pesado, metaleros nunca han sido. Me gustó la banda Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, de acuerdo con las canciones que bailaba con las chicas.
Escuchaba un montón de música pop, los clásicos, desde que tenía seis años de edad.
El metal a mi vida lo trajo el grupo NIGHTWISH. Todo lo que sabía antes del metal era del un álbum nuevo de Metallica, que me gustó.»
Has tenido el placer de trabajar con muchas celebridades. En tu más reciente álbum, el guitarrista Joe Satriani tocó y cantó a dúo con el cantante de Scorpions, Klaus Meine, y en la gira de Alice Cooper.
¿Cuál de estos singles causo mayor impresión?
«Todo por el camino van las cosas de mi carrera; una especie de locura. Cuando me llamó el Sr. Maine, empecé a temblar. Después de todo, me encanta su música desde que era una adolescente. Es un Hombre maravilloso y amable.»
Entonces me pregunto: ¿cómo ocurrió esto? Scorpions me invitó a grabar una canción para su álbum. ¿Puede ser cierto?
«La simple idea de que el Sr. Cooper y el señor Satriani sepan lo que estoy haciendo, creo que es fantástico.»
¿Es usted una vocal clásica, sus profesores no ven con recelo el hecho de que trabajes con metaleros?
«Cuando yo empecé a cantar con NIGHTWISH, estudie la música en la Academia Sibelius en Finlandia. Nadie se me acerco y lo digo directamente; ¿con qué sentido he ido allí? Sin embargo, comenzó a nacer algo extraño en mí.
Pero lo hicieron más los compañeros, los profesores nunca me han hecho menos, actuó con respeto. Ellos saben que tomo en serio el canto clásico, y que ahora trato de sobresalir, y eso no cambia. Hoy los puedo llamar para pedirles un consejo.»
No eres una cantante de rock, que antes del concierto fume 20 cigarrillos, o beba una botella de whisky. Tu tienes voz
«No. Es muy importante para mí descansar. Los fines de semana trato de no hablar. Durante el largo tour es muy difícil. Cuando canto todos los días y las horas de México a América del Sur, y de allí a Rusia, es un importante desafío para la voz.
Es importante mantener mi forma física óptima - correr, ejercicios aeróbicos. Trato de beber mucho té y de dormir siempre que sea posible, detrás de las escenas a bordo.
Tengo suerte de tener un equipo muy comprensivo. Por ejemplo, detrás de las shows, los músicos no fuman, porque no quieren hacernos daño.»
¿Y no juran. No cuentan chistes obscenos?
«¡Oh, no, yo, junto los chistes que cuentan. (risas.)»
Más de dos años de duro trabajo. ¿Después de la visita será de unas largas vacaciones?
«No hay tiempo. El tour termina a mediados de abril y principios de mayo es la grabación de un nuevo álbum. He creado un montón de canciones, muchas de ellas inspiradas en los viajes y nuevas experiencias.
El álbum saldrá en 2013, aún no se lanzado en DVD la gira. Trabajo, hasta el cuello.»
¿No quiere parar, por ejemplo, para tener hijos?
«Ya había pensaba en ello,. Espero que en un futuro próximo pueda suceder.»
Cree que podría combinar la maternidad y su carrera, a pesar de que es un gran desafío.
«Trabajo junto con mi marido, viajamos, y sé que puedo confiar en él. Yo vivo por la música, pero la familia también es muy importante.»
Fue despedida de la Banda NIGHTWISH hace seis años. Tiene comunicación con sus miembros?
«No, ninguna, puentes quemados.»
¿Es evasiva al respecto?
«Trato de no pensar en ello. Pero tienes razón, la manera en que terminó, es muy triste. No puedo decir más nada.»
Vive en Argentina. Esta es una cultura diferente y de costumbres diferentes que su país Finlandia: ¿Hay nostalgia por su patria?
«Sí, pero me encanta Argentina. A menudo la gente imagina que hay otro clima.

Sometimes, you have done duo concerts with local artists. Is this going to happen in Vilnius?
«It can happen. Go to the concert and see. (laughs)»
It is true that you could not sing opera because otherwise you get used to sing, and would need singing lessons again.
Will you ever do?
«For several years trying to find the time to classical music. Last November, I recorded my first album, where I sang classical music. It is entitled "Ave Maria". I recorded in a church in Finland. I wondered if we would.

You've had the pleasure of working with many celebrities. In your latest album, guitarist Joe Satriani played and sang a duet with the Scorpions singer Klaus Meine, and Alice Cooper's tour.
Which of these singles caused more impact?
«All the way things go in my career, a kind of madness. When I called Mr. Maine, I began to tremble. After all, I love his music since I was a teenager. Man is a wonderful and friendly.»

Are you a classical vocal, no teachers are wary of the fact that you work with metalheads?
«When I started singing with NIGHTWISH, study music at the Sibelius Academy in Finland. No one approached me and I say this directly, with what sense I've been there? However, something strange began to be born in me.
