TARJA TURUNEN SOBRE SU TERCER ALBUM: "SI TODO VA BIEN EL ESTRENO ESTÁ PREVISTO PARA AGOSTO/SEPTIEMBRE"

HearEvil ha tenido la oportunidad de hablar con Tarja Turunen, quien después de su separación de Nightwish en 2005, se ha embarcado en una carrera en solitario muy exitosa y nos pusimos al día con ella acerca de su nuevo álbum, su reciente gira y lo que el futuro le depara a esta talentosa artista .

TARJA TURUNEN: "LOS FANS DE LATINOAMÉRICA SON LEALES Y RESPETUOSOS"

ARGENTINA - Durante el año 2011 Tarja estuvo girando presentando las canciones del disco “What Lies Beneath” y “My Winter Storm”, los dos de su carrera solista.

Luego de girar durante meses por América y Europa y participar en importantes festivales de metal en el viejo continente, la finlandesa regresó a Argentina para dar un nuevo show.

Esta vez eligió el teatro Círculo de Rosario, en donde ofreció dos fechas y donde grabó el DVD ‘Tarja Act I’, el primero de su carrera solista y también su primer CD en vivo, pues el material se estrenó en los dos formatos.

Al respecto de este disco y de su carrera, conversamos con Tarja unos minutos y esto fue lo que nos contó:

Muchos artistas del género graban sus DVD’s en Europa o Estados Unidos. ¿Por qué elegiste a Argentina para realizar ‘Tarja ACT I’?
Primero que todo, Argentina es mi nuevo hogar, estoy radicada acá hace cuatro años, así que lo siento como mi nueva casa. Luego, me pareció oportuno mostrarle a todo el mundo cómo son mis fans en Argentina. Yo estoy orgullosa de la relación que tengo con ellos.

El Teatro el Círculo de Rosario, lo elegí porque el año pasado lo conocí y el lugar me encantó, es hermoso; el escenario es muy grande y es perfecto para un show como el que yo ofrezco.

TARJA TURUNEN: "NIGHTWISH PARA MÍ, YA ES HISTORIA"

ARGENTINA - En octubre se cumplen ya siete años de la ruptura TARJA TURUNEN - NIGHTWISH, y también de la famosa carta abierta posteada en el website de la banda, con la que se puso punto final a la historia. Pero la soprano no se quedó de brazos cruzados y comenzó una carrera solista, que ya consta con tres trabajos de estudio, Henkäys Ikuisuudesta (2006), My Winter Storm (2007),  What Lies Beneath (2010), y con el reciente DVD/CD, ACT I: Live in Rosario, grabado en el Teatro El Círculo. Desde su residencia en Argentina, TARJA atiende el teléfono, con su dulzura característica, con su 90% de español y 10% de inglés, y dejando en claro que como dice su tema “I Walk Alone", “Vayan y díganle al mundo que todavía sigo acá.”

-¿Cómo fue que de todas las ciudades que visitaste en tu gira anterior, terminaste eligiendo Rosario para grabar tu primer DVD?
-Rosario es linda, el año pasado hicimos un concierto en ese mismo Teatro (El círculo), tuve la suerte de conocer el lugar y por eso lo elegimos, porque es muy hermoso, con un escenario suficientemente grande para la producción que yo necesito para mi show, y empezamos a organizar todo en ese mismo momento, por eso lo elegimos, por el teatro.

TARJA TURUNEN: "ES IMPOSIBLE MI REGRESO A NIGHTWISH"

La diva del rock finesa, respondió a las preguntas de nuestros lectores y los invitó a un concierto en Minsk el 4 de marzo.

TARJA, has hecho el verano pasado en un dúo con Kipelov, dime, ¿cómo surgió la idea para cantar a dúo?

«Kipelov se puso en contacto conmigo antes de este proyecto, pero en ese momento era imposible. Cuando se dio cuenta de este gran festival “Rock in Volga,” decidimos hacer esta canción, y fue muy interesante.»

¿Hay planes de grabar en estudio el dúo con Valery Kipelov?

«En este momento no hay planes para su registro.»

¿Recuerdas tu primer amor y la primera cita?

«¡Por supuesto! Yo tenía 10 años, fui a la escuela y me enamoré de un chico, que tenía los ojos marrones más bellos del mundo. Mi primera cita fue más tarde, cuando yo tenía unos 13 años. Nada serio durante la cita ocurrió, pero fue muy romántico.»
 

¿Qué opinas de Bielorrusia?

«Yo sólo tuve un concierto en Minsk antes, pero me gustó mucho. Había miles de fans hermosos que me han acogido en su país, y el concierto fue todo un éxito. Lamentablemente, no tuve tiempo para visitar Minsk. Espero que esto se solucione en el próximo encuentro.»

TARJA, ¿Qué te gusta más – el clima de Finlandia frío o el clima caliente de Argentina? Y qué es lo que más te gusta de la cultura latinoamericana?

«Prefiero Argentina las cuatro estaciones del año. Todos ellas son más cálidas que las finesas. En Argentina, la gente es más abierta, es más fácile de aceptar las diferentes culturas, es más fácil percibir los problemas cotidianos. Sin embargo, hay una comida muy sabrosa, con un montón de influencias del italiano, español, portugués y de la cocina árabe. El tiempo es mucho mejor que en el norte de Europa. La gente en Argentina, me encanta poder vivir en su país y hablo de su país como su segundo hogar. Son muy amables y gente solidaria.»

Cuando se compara la música rock y el Olimpo griego, eres sin duda, la principal diosa Hera. ¿Y quién de los roqueros, los hombres, se merecen el título de Zeus de rock?

«Peter Gabriel, a pesar de que toca música pop y no rock.»

TARJA, cuando eras niña practicabas boxeo. Y ahora, ¿no quisieras entrar en el ring en contra de alguien?

«¡De ninguna manera! Fui a un combate de boxeo y un par de semanas más tarde me rompió la articulación del dedo. Pasó esa etapa.»

Cuando eras niña estabas en el coro de la iglesia. Dime, en los últimos años, el crecimiento personal y experiencia de vida como cambió tu fe en Dios?

«A juzgar por mis recuerdos de infancia, nuestra familia no era muy religiosa, a pesar de que fui bautizada, fuimos a la iglesia todas las Navidades, y mi madre me enseñó oraciones. Es decir, la misma Iglesia nunca ha ocupado un lugar importante en mi vida, pero yo creo en Dios.»

He intentado encontrar un análogo de su nombre en ruso: Daria, Tatiana… ¿Cuál te gusta más?

«Suena interesante!»

Si pudieras tener un don, cuál te gustaría tener: el don de leer los pensamientos de otras personas o la capacidad de hacerte invisible cuando desees?
 «Voy a elegir la oportunidad de convertirme en invisible. Eso sería genial! No me importa lo que piensen los demás. A mí me parece que la capacidad de leer la mente sólo puede perjudicar a la salud mental de su dueño – hay personas tan extrañas.»

Si tuvieras la oportunidad de elegir un obra en cualquier producción de la ópera, ¿cuál te gustaría realizar?
«Hay algunas funciones interesantes de ópera para soprano lírica, pero yo no soy un cantante de ópera. En cuanto al repertorio clásico, prefiero más la música de cámara que la ópera. Además, me gustaría poder actuar varios años realmente en el escenario de la ópera.Espero que pase un día, porque cada día hay que trabajar mucho en tu voz. Me gustaría llevar a cabo lote de Lauretta de “Gianni Schicchi”, Tatiana en “Eugene Onegin” y Pamina en “La flauta mágica”.»

¿Es posible un regreso a NIGHTWISH?

«No.»

Mi nombre es Victor, tengo 60 años de edad, pero supongo que no soy el viejo ventilador de su talento. ¿Sabe usted cual es el más joven de sus fans?

«Conocí a un montón de fans jóvenes. Una vez conocí a una niña que tenía sólo tres años, pero a ella le gustaba mucho mi música. Esta fue una sorpresa sorprendente y hermosa.»

Tengo una pregunta para usted: avancemos años e imagínate en, digamos, 20. ¿Cómo te ves y dónde? Tal vez la cantante en todo el mundo con millones de fans, o tal vez cambiar su carrera y convertirse en una famosa bailarina? ¿O vas a llevar una vida tranquila y convertirse en un ama de casa?

«Creo que sería muy infeliz sin la alegría que me da cantar. No me gustaría cambiar radicalmente los planes para el futuro, porque eso es lo que la música me ha dado en el comienzo en la vida, y realmente me gusta lo que hago. Creo que voy a estar más involucrada en la enseñanza de canto, y mis horarios de los conciertos variarán un poco, pero espero que eso no me haga daño, y seguir evolucionando musicalmente. Quiero en algún momento convertirme en madre, pero también no cambio mis planes en la música. No descarto diferentes escenarios, pero sigo soñando con la música y espero que esto nunca vaya a cambiar.»

Muchos grupos conocidos están tratando de usar la música para promover sus ideas políticas / religiosas / social. ¿Cuál es tu actitud hacia esto? ¿Y cómo cree usted que es posible cambiar algo en la sociedad y el mundo por medio de música, especialmente el plan de extremo?

«La música cambia vidas de la gente todos los días, yo creo en ella. Por ejemplo, me cambió la vida! Cuando se crea algo que no deja a nadie indiferente, que tan profundamente afecta a la música, le afectará de manera positiva. He escuchado muchas buenas historias de mis fans, ya que sus vidas han cambiado, pero no tengo ninguna relación con las cuestiones políticas ni religiosas, pero mi música llegó a la conclusión de unos sentimientos. Yo creo que una persona puede hacer la diferencia si él cree en ella. Si nadie puede, todo el mundo llegará a ser muy miserable.»

¿Vas a explorar estilos musicales totalmente inesperados (el reggae, por ejemplo)?

«Tengo algunos planes radicales. Tengo un proyecto que estamos haciendo con mi amigo y productor Torsten Stenzelem. Se basa en la música electrónica chill-out, y pronto vamos a tener noticias. El proyecto ya ha lanzado una canción que escribí hace algún tiempo. Fue inspirada por el escritor Paulo Coelho.»

No hace falta decir que cada país es diferente, no sólo el terreno, la arquitectura y la gastronomía, sino también a los aficionados. También está claro que son difíciles de identificar los fans de un país en particular, porque los demás se sientan ofendidos. Pero me gustaría saber: cómo ves a los fans en este país? ¿Y cómo se diferencian de sus “colegas” de otros estados?

«No sé qué esperaba de los fans de Belarús a su llegada a Minsk por primera vez, pero el concierto fue simplemente genial. La admisión del público fue muy cálida, y me pareció que la gente estaba esperando mi llegada desde hace mucho tiempo. Me pareció que el público se mostró muy agradecido. Podría estar equivocada, pero aquí tuve la sensación que en el concierto había gente de todas las edades, no sólo los jóvenes rockeros. Recuerdo que el concierto se llevó a cabo en el terreno de hockey y en los pasillos era duro conseguir el contacto cercano con el público debido a las barreras, pero me enamoré de su audiencia. En general, los espectadores en cada país son muy diferentes.»

¿De las personas de tu vida a quién das las gracias?

«Mi madre sería la primera en la lista, pero por desgracia, ya no está con nosotros. Estoy segura de que sabe cuánto se lo agradezco. Además, mi marido, mis amigos, que se preocupan por mí y que todos mis problemas y mis músicos.»

TARJA, you did last summer in a duet with Kipelov, tell me, how did the idea to sing a duet?

TARJA, what do you prefer - cold climate of Finland or the hot weather in Argentina? And what do you like most Latin American culture?

«I prefer Argentina the four seasons. All of them are warmer than the Finnish. In Argentina, people are more open, more facile to accept different cultures, it is easier to perceive everyday problems. However, there is a very tasty meal with lots of influences from Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic cuisine. The weather is much better than in northern Europe. People in Argentina, I love to live at home and talk about their country as their second home. They are very kind and caring people.»

When compared to rock music and the Greek Olympus, are undoubtedly the chief goddess Hera. And who of rockers, men deserve the title of Zeus of rock?

«Peter Gabriel, although it plays pop and rock.»

TARJA, as a kid were practicing boxing. And now, do not want to enter the ring against someone?

«No way! I went to a boxing match and a couple of weeks later I broke the toe joint. Passed that stage.»

As a kid were in the church choir. Tell me, in recent years, personal growth and life experience changed your faith in God?

«Judging from my childhood memories, our family was not religious, although I was baptized, went to church every Christmas, and my mother taught me prayers. That is, the Church has never held an important place in my life, but I believe in God.»

«No.»

«I met a lot of young fans. I once kw a girl who was only three years, but she liked my music. This was a strikingly beautiful surprise.»

I have a question for you: go forward years and imagine in, say, 20. How do you see and where? Perhaps the singer in the world with millions of fans, or perhaps change careers and become a famous dancer? Or will you lead a quiet life and become a housewife?

«It would be very unhappy without the joy it gives me sing. I would not radically change the plans for the future, because that's what music has given me the start in life, and I really like what I do. I think I'll be more involved in teaching singing, and my schedule of concerts vary a bit, but hope it does not hurt me, and continue to evolve musically. I eventually became a mother, but do not change my plans in music. Not rule out different scenarios, but I still dream of music and I hope this will never change.»

Many well-known groups are trying to use music to promote their political / religious / social. What is your attitude towards this? And how do you think you can change something in society and the world through music, especially the plan to end?

«The music changes people's lives every day, I believe in it. For example, it changed my life! Could be wrong, but here I feel that at the concert were people of all ages, not just the young rockers. I remember the concert took place in the field of hockey and in the corridors was hard to get close contact with the public because of the barriers, but I fell in love with his audience. In general, viewers in each country are very different.»

Did people in your life who give thanks?

«My mother would be the first on the list, but alas, no longer with us. I'm sure you know how grateful I am. Also, my husband, my friends, who care about me and all my problems and my musicians.»

TARJA TURUNEN, CONTUNDENTE SOBRE NIGHTWISH: "PARTICULARMENTE NO PERDÍ NADA DE MIS AÑOS CON LA BANDA"

A principios de 2012, TURUNEN se encuentra de gira después de lanzar el álbum WHAT LIES BENEATH, con conciertos en toda Europa, desde Portugal a Moscú, seguido por actuaciones en América Central y del Sur. En diciembre de 2011, la cantante también lanzó un DVD en vivo y un CD grabado en la sala Sibelius en la sureña ciudad finlandesa de Lahti.

Usted es la primera artista finlandesa en alcanzar el oro en Alemania, ambos con una banda y como solista. ¿Qué es lo que encontramos que son las mayores ventajas de una carrera en solitario? ¿Hay algo que se olvida de su período con NIGHTWISH?
«Yo diría que todo es diferente cuando se trata de tener una carrera en solitario en comparación con ser un miembro de una constante y bien establecida banda. Tenía que encontrar mis propias alas en el mundo de la música en el principio y no era fácil, pero estoy muy contenta de haber pasado por todo eso.»

«Definitivamente me siento más cómoda ahora que en cualquier momento. La libertad que tengo de elegir a las personas con las que trabajo, escribir mis propias canciones y producirlas es increíble. No hay fronteras por las cuáles tenga que luchar y no hay egos, porque en el fondo estoy tomando decisiones por mí misma! Y no, yo particularmente no me perdí nada de mis años con la banda.»

Usted es una cantante muy versátil que puede actuar en el Festival de Ópera de Savonlinna o hacer un hardcore heavy con un grito de la multitud de metal. ¿Dónde se siente más cómoda en el escenario? ¿Cómo se prepara de forma diferente dependiendo del lugar?
«Estos estilos son muy diferentes, así que sí, mi preparación es diferente. Definitivamente estoy aún más nerviosa sobre la ejecución de la música clásica, ya que no lo había hecho profesionalmente antes de que mi carrera en el rock comenzara a florecer. Antes de un concierto de música clásica hago algunos ejercicios de respiración y vocalizo mucho más que antes en un concierto de rock. Mentalmente mi concentración es del 100% y me centro en los aspectos técnicos del show. Sigo tomando clases particulares de canto, porque creo que es vital para mí.»

«En un concierto de rock que puedo divertirme, hago todo lo que siento en ese momento. Me encanta ver a la multitud emocionada sobre mi rendimiento y la gente realmente me da mucha energía.»

El verano 2011 fue bastante agitado para usted. ¿Qué concierto te recuerda como el punto culminante de la temporada?
«Yo escribí en mi blog oficial que era el mejor verano de mi carrera hasta ahora. Tuve la oportunidad de actuar en diferentes tipos de conciertos y saltar en nuevos desafíos, que siempre me gusta hacer. Es difícil elegir, pero creo que el concierto con José Cura en el Festival de Ópera de Savonlinna en Finlandia fue excepcional. Fue un honor cantar con él.»

Ha compartido el escenario con Angra en el festival Rock in Rio en Brasil. ¿Cómo fue la colaboración?
«¡Fue increíble estar en el Rock In Rio! He conocido a los miembros de Angra desde hace muchos años y trabajé estrechamente con su guitarrista, Kiko Loureiro en mi primer disco. He recibido la invitación y de inmediato dije que sí! Fue muy divertido llevarlo a cabo juntos y conocer a mis hermosos fans brasileños.»

Pasás mucho tiempo viajando. ¿Qué te gustaría hacer cuando regreses a Finlandia?
«Yo suelo ir a ver a mi familia en el norte de la región de Karelia, porque yo los echo de menos más aún cuando estoy lejos. Eso significa un montón de risas, la cocina, sauna y disfrutando de cada minuto que se nos da. También me encanta salir a correr en el campo, si el tiempo lo permite.»
¿Hay algún otro artista o banda que realmente se le ocurriría de colaborar con el escenario?
«¡Peter Gabriel es mi héroe! Tiene la voz, el carisma, y una carrera increíble. Todos necesitamos tener sueños, ¿verdad?»

In early 2012, TURUNEN is touring after releasing the album WHAT LIES BENEATH, with concerts across Europe, from Portugal to Moscow, followed by performances in Central and South America. «I would say everything is different when it comes to having a solo career as opposed to being a member of a constant and well-established band. I had to find my own wings in the world of music in the beginning was not easy, but I'm very glad I went through all that.»

I definitely feel more comfortable now than at any time. The freedom I have to choose the people I work with, write my own songs and produce them is incredible. There are no boundaries that I have to fight and no egos, because basically I'm making decisions for myself! And no, I particularly didn´t miss anything from my years with the band.»

You´re a very versatile singer who can act in the Savonlinna Opera Festival or make a heavy hardcore with a shout of the multitude of metal. Where do you feel most comfortable on stage? How do you prepare differently depending on location?
«These styles are very different, so yes, my preparation is different. I'm definitely more nervous about the performance of classical music, since he had not done professionally before my career began to blossom rock. Before a concert of classical music do some breathing exercises and vocalize more than ever before in a rock concert. Mentally, my focus is 100% and focus on the technical aspects of the show. I still take private lessons in singing, because I think it's vital for me.»

Summer 2011 was very hectic for you. What reminds you concert as the highlight of the season?
«I wrote in my official blog that it was the best summer of my career so far. I had the opportunity to perform in different types of gigs and jump into new challenges, like I always do. It's hard to choose, but I think the concert with José Cura in the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland was exceptional. It was an honor to sing with him.»

He has shared the stage with Angra in Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. How was the collaboration?
«It was amazing to be in the Rock In Rio! I've met members of Angra many years and worked closely with his guitarist Kiko Loureiro on my first album. I received the invitation and immediately said yes! It was fun to carry it out together and meet my beautiful Brazilian fans.»

You spend much time traveling. What would you do when you return to Finland?
«I usually go to see my family in northern Karelia region, because I miss them even more when I'm away. That means a lot of laughs, kitchen, sauna and enjoying every minute we are given. I also love jogging in the field, weather permitting.»
Are there any other artist or band that really would happen to work with on stage?
«Peter Gabriel is my hero! He has the voice, charisma, and an incredible race. We all need to dream, right?»

Hemos tenido la oportunidad de contactar con TARJA TURUNEN, quién es indudablemente una de las artistas finlandesas más conocidas en el mundo entero, para que nos cuente más sobre su carrera, sus gustos y su música.

TARJA TURUNEN alcanzó la fama internacional como cantante de la banda de metal NIGHTWISH (siendo todavía añorada por multitud de sus fans tras su salida de la misma) como por su exitosa carrera en solitario. Desde principios de 2012, TARJA se encuentra de gira después de lanzar su álbum WHAT LIES BENEATH, presentando conciertos en toda Europa, desde Moscú hasta Portugal antes de visitar América Latina donde ofrecerá conciertos en México, Costa Rica y Argentina. Anteriormente, en diciembre de 2011 la cantante lanzó su álbum navideño HARUS en CD/DVD realizando conciertos dentro de Finlandia.

TARJA TURUNEN ha alcanzado una exitosa carrera en solitario.

¡Gracias por atendernos TARJA! Has tenido un verano muy ocupado. ¿Cuál de tus conciertos es el que sientes que ha sido el más importante del verano?

«¡Un placer! Justo escribí en mi blog hace pocos días que este ha sido el mejor verano de mi carrera hasta la fecha. He podido actuar en diferentes conciertos y afrontar diversos retos, una cosa que adoro. Es difícil elegir uno, pero me quedo con el concierto junto a José Cura en el Festival de Ópera de Savonlinna en Finlandia. Fue un honor cantar junto a él.»

¿Te preparas de manera diferente para cantar en un concierto de heavy metal que en uno de música clásica?

«Estos estilos son muy diferentes, así que sí, mi preparación también difiere. Todavía me siento más nerviosa al cantar música clásica, porque era algo que no había hecho profesionalmente antes de que mi carrera en el rock floreciera. Antes de un concierto de música clásica hago ejercicios de respiración y vocalizo mucho más que antes de uno de rock. Necesito estar segura de que voy a dar lo mejor. También me enfoco en las partes técnicas del programa que vaya a realizar. Aún hoy sigo tomando lecciones privadas de canto, es algo vital para mí. En un concierto de rock puedo divertirme más y hacer lo que me apetezca en el momento. Y el público me da mucha energía.»

TARJA TURUNEN tiene muchos seguidores en América Latina que la apoyan mucho.

Eres la primera artista finlandesa en conseguir disco de oro en Alemania tanto en solitario como perteneciendo a una banda. ¿Cuáles son las ventajas de una carrera en solitario?¿Y por otra parte, echas algo de menos de tu época en NIGHTWISH?

«Es muy diferente cuando tienes que empezar una carrera en solitario que cuando estás en una banda ya asentada y conocida. Tuve que encontrar mi propio camino en el mundo de la música, y no fue fácil, pero estoy muy contenta de haber pasado por todo ello. Definitivamente me siento más cómoda ahora que nunca antes. La libertad que tengo para elegir la gente con la que colaboro, escribir y producir canciones es increíble. No tengo que luchar con fronteras o egos, porque soy yo la que toma las decisiones. Y no, no hecho particularmente nada de menos de mis años con la banda.»

Pasando tanto tiempo fuera de tu país, ¿qué te gusta hacer cuando regresas a Finlandia?

«Cuando vuelvo a Finlandia, me gusta ir a ver a mi familia en Carelia del Norte, porque les echo mucho de menos fuera. Nos reímos mucho, cocinamos, vamos a la sauna y disfrutamos de la compañía. También me gusta salir a correr por el campo, si el tiempo lo permite.»

Compartiste escenario con Angra en el festival Rock in Rio de Brasil. ¿Cómo surgió la colaboración?

«¡Fue increíble poder estar en el Rock In Río! Conozco a los miembros de Angra desde hace años y colaboré con su guitarrista Kiko Loureiro en mi primer disco. Me invitaron a unirme y no dudé en decir que sí. No canté todo el concierto con ellos, sino solo algunas canciones como artista invitada. Fue muy divertido tocar juntos y encontrarme con mis queridos fans brasileños. Tengo importantes club de fans en Brasil que me apoyan mucho.»

¿Y te queda algún artista con el que soñarías colaborar algún día?

«¡Peter Gabriel es mi héroe! Lo tiene todo, la voz, el carisma, la gran carrera… Todos nosotros necesitamos tener sueños, ¿verdad?»

We had the opportunity to connect with TARJA TURUNEN, who is undoubtedly one of the most famous Finnish artists in the world, to tell us more about his career and his music tastes.

Tarja Turunen achieved international fame as lead singer of metal band NIGHTWISH (while still missed by his many fans after leaving it) as for his successful solo career. Since early 2012, Tarja is on tour after releasing their album WHAT LIES BENEATH, presenting concerts throughout Europe, from Moscow to Portugal before visiting Latin America that offer concerts in Mexico, Costa Rica and Argentina. Previously, in December 2011 the singer released her holiday album HARUS CD/DVD performing concerts in Finland.

TARJA TURUNEN achieved a successful solo career.

Thank you for attending TARJA! You had a busy summer. Which of your concerts is that you feel has been the biggest summer?

«A pleasure! I wrote in my blog just few days ago that this was the best summer of my career to date. I have acted in different concerts and cope with various challenges, one thing I love. It's hard to choose one, but I prefer the concert with José Cura in the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland. It was an honor to sing with him.»

Do you prepare differently for singing in a heavy metal concert in a classical music?

«These styles are very different, so yes, my preparation also differs. I still feel more nervous to sing classical music, because it was something I had not done professionally before my career in rock flourish. Before a concert of classical music do breathing exercises and vocalize more than a rock before. I need to be sure I will do better. I also focused on the technical parts of the program to be undertaken. Even today I'm taking private lessons in singing, is vital for me. At a rock concert and I can have more fun doing what I want at the moment. And the audience gives me great energy.»

TARJA TURUNEN has many followers in Latin America that are very supportive.

You are the first Finnish artist to achieve gold status in Germany, both solo as belonging to a gang. What are the advantages of a solo career? And on the other hand, you miss something less of your time in NIGHTWISH?

«It's very different when you have to start a solo career when you're in a band already established and known. I had to find my own way in the world of music, and it was not easy, but I'm very glad I went through all this. I definitely feel more comfortable now than ever before. The freedom I have to choose the people you collaborate, write and produce songs is incredible. I have to fight not to borders or egos, it's me who makes the decisions. And no, it made it particularly anything less from my years with the band.»

Spending so much time out of your country, what you enjoy doing when you come to Finland?

«When I return to Finland, I like going to see my family in North Karelia, because they really miss out. We laughed a lot, cook, go to the sauna and enjoy the company. I also like to go running down the field, weather permitting.»

Angra shared the stage with the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. How did the collaboration?

«It was amazing to be at the Rock In Rio! I know members of Angra years and collaborated with guitarist Kiko Loureiro on my first album. I was invited to join and did not hesitate to say yes. I did not sing the entire concert with them, but only a few songs as guest artist. It was very fun to play together and meet my dear Brazilian fans. I have important club in Brazil fans very supportive.»

«Peter Gabriel is my hero! It has everything, voice, charisma, great career ... We all need to dream, right?»
