TARJA TURUNEN realiza ahora su última gira del álbum reciente WHAT LIES BENEATH. El recorrido parece ser muy exitoso hasta ahora. Pero también hay otras personas que la ayudan a seguir adelante. Uno de los miembros de su banda es el guitarrista, ALEX SCHOLPP quién ha estado con ella desde los mismos comienzos de su carrera en solitario. Es por eso que decidimos hacerles preguntas.

«¡Hola! Hasta el momento todo está bien, había algunas aventuras por participar (por ejemplo, en la tormenta de nieve Rumania) - rock and roll!»
Sí, he oído que tuviste algunos problemas en el camino de Sofía. ¿Qué pasó? ¿El tiempo era tan malo?
«Sólo mal tiempo, con mucha nieve. Rutas cerradas. Bus caliente!»
Tengo curiosidad, pero ¿Qué solés hacer cuando tenés que viajar tanto tiempo? ¿Tenés la diversión en el autobús? ¿Podrías contar a nuestros lectores tal vez algunas historias divertidas?
«Hmmm... en realidad es muy aburrido por eso es que solemos viajar por la noche. Trato de dormir lo más que puedo, escuchar música, ver una película o escribir una canción en mi iPad.»
¿No te sentís cansado cuando estás en el escenario después de tantos kilómetros que pasan de esa manera?
«No. Cuando comienza el show es sólo él y eso es todo. Viajando me produce cansancio pero todo el mundo también se utiliza a la misma y el momento en que estoy en el escenario es la razón por la que viajo por que no tiene sentido estar cansado en ese momento.»
Esta es la última gira con el álbum de WHAT LIES BENEATH que comenzó hace como un mes. ¿Qué conciertos disfrutarte más hasta ahora?
«Todos ellos son un poco diferente pero sí disfruté de ellos todo lo mismo y se siente cómodo en todas las etapas.»
¿Hay algún país que tengas ganas de visitar?
«¡Todos ellos! Sin embargo, espero a un buen restaurante en París.»
¿Prefierís lugares grandes o pequeños? Me refiero a más de 3000 o algunos conciertos del club?
«Como he dicho antes, me siento cómodo en todas las etapas. Es diferente cuando tocás en un club muy pequeño donde se puede sentir el aliento de la gente hacia uno, pero esto puede ser muy intenso, por supuesto, y también es bonito tocar en un gran lugar con ruidosos ventiladores. La energía es diferente, pero me divierto en todas las situaciones.»
¿Podría nombrar algunas canciones que realmente te gusta tocar? ¿Cuáles son las canciones que disfrutás durante los conciertos?
«Hmmm, tal vez con Underneath, un solo o Falling Awake, Dark Star, también el set acústico.»
¿Estás preparando nuevo material con sus otras bandas? ¿Podría usted revelar algunos secretos, tal vez?
«Sí, constantemente! :-)
En abril tengo la intención de lanzar el álbum debut de "The Help". Más tarde en el otoño tendrá lugar el 2° álbum de "Tieflader" y antes del verano voy a grabar las guitarras para el nuevo álbum acústico de mi esposa, Dacia Bridges.»
¿Vas a grabar también en el álbum nuevo de TARJA?
«Sí, ese es el plan.»

TARJA TURUNEN is right now on the last tour with her still currect album WHAT LIES BENEATH. The tour seems to be really succesful so far. But there are also other people who help her to go ahead. One of her band members is guitarist ALEX SCHOLPP who has been with her since the very beginnings of her solo career. That´s why we decided to put him few questions.
Hi Alex. You´re right now on the tour with TARJA. How is it going so far?
«Hi! So far all is fine, we had some adventures taking part (for example snowstorm in Romania) - rock´n´roll!»
Yeah, I´ve heard that you had some problems on the road to Sofia. What happened? Was the weather so bad?
«Just bad weather with too much snow. Closed roads. Warm bus!»
I´m curious but what do you usually do when you have to travel so long? Do you have fun in the bus? Could you tell to our readers maybe some funny stories?
«Hmmm… actually it´s very boring that´s why we usually travel at night. I try to sleep as much as I can, listen to music, watch a movie or write a song on my iPad.»
Don´t you feel tired when you´re on the stage after all those kilometres spending like that?
«No. When the show starts it´s just on and that´s it. Traveling like this makes you tired but everybody is also used to it and the moment when I´m on stage is the reason for that traveling so it makes no sense to be tired in that moment.»
This last tour with What Lies Beneath album started like a month ago. Which concerts have you enjoyed most so far?
«They´re all a little different but I do enjoy them all the same and feel comfortable on every stage.»
Is there any country you´re really looking forward to visit? I mean during this tour. There are really many countries.
«All of them! I am looking forward to a nice restaurant in Paris though.»
Do you prefer big or small venues? I mean like 3000-people-crowd or some club concerts?
«As I said before, I feel comfortable on every stage. It´s different when you play in a very small club where you can feel the breath of the people on you but this can be very intense, of course it´s also nice to play in a big place with loud fans. The energy is just different but I have fun in all situations.»
Could you name some songs that you really like to play? Songs that you´re really enjoying during live shows?
«Hmmm, Underneath maybe with slide solo or Falling Awake, Dark Star, also the acoustic set.»
Are you preparing some new material with your other bands? Could you reveal some secrets perhaps?
«Yes, constantly! :-)
In April I plan to release the debut album of "The Help". Later in the fall there will be the 2nd album of "Tieflader" and before the summer I will record guitars for the new acoustic album of my wife, Dacia Bridges.»
Are you going to record also the new TARJAs album?
«Yes, that is the plan.»
